Abstract
The current context, marked by economic developmentalist inspiration in the state discourse and the corporate business dispute surrounding the exploitation of environmental resources, imposes the need for discussion about the nature-society interactions. From this observation, this article aims to discuss the major theoretical perspectives in relation to the duality between the conflict for resources and the developmentalist argument.
