https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2147

The Euphorbiaceae family, comprising approximately 300 genera and 8,000 species, is renowned for its global diversity and the abundant presence of bioactive compounds with varied chemical compositions. An integrative review was conducted, encompassing scientific literature from Google Scholar (n=323), SciELO (n=1), and Web of Science (n=9), totaling 326 reviewed articles, spanning from 1983 to 2023. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine studies were included in the review. The analysis revealed the diversity of allelochemical compounds present in Euphorbiaceae species, with a particular focus on the genus Croton, which was studied with two specific species. These compounds exhibited inhibitory effects, suggesting a negative impact on the growth and development of other plants. The review also highlighted the scarcity of research conducted under natural conditions and emphasized the need to integrate bioassays with studies in plant chemistry. The results underscore the importance of understanding the complexities of allelopathy within the Euphorbiaceae family, providing valuable insights for potential applications in sustainable agriculture and pest control.
Bruna dos Santos FerreiraIdonilto da Conceição FernandesJosiane de Fátima Gaspari DiasObdulio Gomes MiguelMarilis Dallarmi Miguel

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2045

Due to its significance, a critical summary of the publication 'Selos de cursos de instrução' (‘Instructional training stamps’) from 1975, issued by the Planning Office of the Regional Directorate of Bauru/SP (the only existing publication on these stamps), will be presented. Additionally, a sample of these stamps will be examined, allowing the presentation of various supplementary features, including some varieties along with their reasons and frequency of occurrence. It was observed that there are stamps with ten different values (0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.70, 0.80, 1.00, 2.00, and 2.50), but for the denomination 0.50 there are two distinct types. Due to the absence of margins on the sheets, the stamps on the sides do not have all edges perforated, resulting in a series of primary permanent varieties (occurring on all sheets). There are four different base sizes for the stamps, with the main one measuring 35 mm x 30 mm. Four types have comb perforation, while the others have mostly rotary mixed perforation, usually 10 ¾ x 10 ½. All sheets have the phenomenon of têche-bêches pairs on the stamps in the two central rows, where the stamps appear as inverted pairs, either joined at the top or at the bottom, depending on each type. In all sheets, the phenomenon of flawed cliché joins occurs due to irregularities in the placement of the reticulated background matrix. These stamps played a significant role in Brazilian philatelic and postal history, having been used by ECT in its internal training for over 30 years. This work contributes to the state of the art in understanding these items.
Henrique Costa Braga

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/1826

The demand for public security gained strength and space in the last presidential elections in Brazil. Given this scenario and the attempts to make access to the carrying and possession of weapons more flexible, there has been an increase in the number of people with access to such instruments. In this way, the field of psychological assessment is invited to participate in these processes through the application of methods and techniques that seek to identify and base behavioral and psychological profiles compatible with legal requirements. It aimed, therefore, to elucidate the national production, in the last five years, on the theme of Psychological Assessment for the Concession of Carrying or Possession of Firearms. This is an integrative literature review of national publications within the range from January 1, 2017 to September 15, 2021. The consultation platforms were: CAPES, SciELO and Google Scholar. Thus, 187 publications were initially found. Subsequently, through the inclusion and exclusion criteria, eight articles were selected to be analyzed. From this follow-up, publications were found referring to the historical trajectory of the field of psychological assessment, as well as the legal instruments that underlie the processes of granting the possession and possession of firearms. In addition, research was verified that deal with instruments used in the evaluation processes, such as the Desiderative Questionnaire and the Zulliger Test. Finally, there are still few national publications referring to the subject of psychological assessment in the subject studied, which justifies greater investment in the area.
Orlando Constâncio Gadelha Filho André Sousa RochaDarlene Pinho Fernandes de Moura Maria Suely Alves Costa

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2091

Changes in food consumption and lifestyle have led to an increase in chronic non-communicable diseases among young individuals. The development of obesity in childhood is worrying, as it is at this stage that lifestyle habits are formed. To reduce excess weight in children, the definition, development and support of interventions aimed at promoting healthy eating through health education are of paramount importance. Therefore, this study aimed to validate a comic book (comic) to promote healthy eating in terms of language, content and appearance of the material according to experts in the field. The research was of the methodological type of validation of educational material, carried out between October/2020 and January/2021. The selection of experts was carried out using research on the Lattes Platform and the snowball method; sent an invitation letter, the HQ and an online form. The statistical analyzes performed were: descriptive, Content Validity Index (CVI), average percentage of material adequacy, Cronbach's Alpha and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Piauí. The comic was evaluated by 21 judges, the majority of whom were nurses and nutritionists. The material was considered adequate, reaching CVI above 0.96, with reliability (Cronbach's Alpha greater than 0.960) and high response agreement (ICC greater than 0.950) and adequacy percentage equal to 67.7%. The judges considered the comic to be appropriate and with reliable and truthful content.
Alana Paulina de Moura SousaAmanda Josefa de Moura SousaArtemizia Francisca de SousaViviane Martins da SilsaLuisa Helena de Oliveira Lima

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2078

The collection and analysis of data through technological prospecting of patents has been used as a support for the creation and improvement of new technologies such as Arduino applied to food. One way to test equipment in processes is through the use of microcontrollers, such as Arduino, which allows the use of control tools to perform small-scale automation. Arduino is a tool that can be used for various functions and activities, even being used as a patent record. The objective of this study was to carry out a technological monitoring of patents on Arduino applications in the food sector. After conducting a preliminary patent search in various databases, including Lens, DERWENT, Espacenet, and INPI, patents from a comprehensive database were selected to perform technological monitoring on the application of Arduino in food. It was found that, from the most comprehensive database, DERWENT, with 72 patents, all of which correspond to the engineering field, the main global competitors in the development and protection of Arduino-related technologies in food are countries like India, mainly Chandigarh University and Lovely Professional, which invest in stimulating innovation. As evaluated in INPI data, in Brazil, there is little technological advancement aimed at Arduino applications, presenting only 2 registered patents. However, advancements in inventions related to this technology have grown at a moderate pace. Overall, the developed indicators suggest that patent development in this area has specific growth potential.
SUZANA PEDROZA DA SILVAMaria Eduarda Menezes RochaJosé Wilson Leite AlmeidaÁdilla Pereira D’ávila SouzaMario Sansuke Maranhão Watanabe

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/1990

This study investigated the potential of starch extracted from babassu mesocarp for use in the food industry. Starch from babassu mesocarp was extracted alkaline and its physical-chemical and functional characteristics such as syneresis, transparency and amylose content were evaluated, comparing the data with conventional corn and cassava starch. The results showed that babassu starch has a satisfactory degree of purity when the proximate composition was analyzed, which included moisture (12.65%), proteins content (0.27%), lipids (0.01%), ashes (0.00%). A high amylose content (29.19%) was found, which could be a viable alternative for applications as a thickening and binding agent. Although transparency has decreased over time (7.03% to 3.27%), this characteristic can be useful in certain products. Differences were observed in relation to cassava and corn starches in terms of syneresis, where babassu starch presented the highest value (35.70%), water absorption was also higher for babassu starch (2.19%) and solubility in water it was the lowest (0.13%). Therefore, adaptation of formulations is necessary to optimize their performance in various industrial applications. This study contributes to diversification and innovation in the food industry, paving the way for the wider use of babassu starch.
Shekinah Mendes SilvaLuis Fernando PolesiGraciele Rodrigues de PassosTiago Bratilieri dos Santos Gisele Teixeira de Souza Sora

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2088

Quick and accurate verification of the vigor and viability of batches of seeds are important factors for decision-making regarding the disposal of batches unsuitable for commercialization and storage costs. Also, it is necessary to discriminate between lots that have similar germination potential, and therefore, the use of rapid vigor tests is sought. Thus, the objective of this study was to determine the viability of lots of buckwheat seeds with the aid of the exudate pH test methodology. The design used was completely randomized, with a 7 x 2 x 3 factorial (lots of seeds and temperatures and imbibition periods), with four replications of 50 seeds. In seed lots from the 201/2019 harvests, the temperatures were 25º and 30º C and the soaking periods were 20, 40 and 60 minutes. It was found that there was a response to imbibition and different temperatures, however with low batch stratification sensitivity. It was concluded that the exudate pH test with the presence of the seed coat was not efficient in discriminating batches of buckwheat seeds and is not suitable for this crop.
Priscila Barbieri ZiniUbirajara Russi NunesJanine Farias MenegaesEduardo José LudwigCassiano Vasconcelos dos Santos

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2073

Introduction: Regenerative medicine involves, among other biostimulating strategies, the use of blood derivatives in order to regulate and accelerate the healing process. Fibrin rich in platelets and leukocytes (L-PRF) is a resultant platelet with 3 by-products: acellular supernatant serum (SAS), clot and exudate. Despite being promising, there are few studies that characterize the real influence of this platelet concentrate on the repair of cutaneous wounds. Objective: To evaluate, within an in vitro investigative approach, through antibacterial analysis and cytokine and growth factor dosage, the immunomodulatory influence of L-PRF. Method: 10 clinically healthy volunteers were selected. Some women practiced physical activity daily and others weekly. To obtain the L-PRF derivatives, a blood sample was collected, with the amount of 4 tubes of 5 mL of blood from each candidate. Results: The evaluation of the potential antibacterial properties of the volunteers, on Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, showed positive action in 40% of the total L-PRF by-products. There was selectivity and differentiation, in the intrinsic individuality of each volunteer, when comparing the 3 elements of L-PRF in the inhibition of the growth zone. Then came another stage of the present study, the dosage of cytokines and growth factor, respectively: tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin 10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor b (TGF-β) in SAS and exudate. Conclusion: In view of the determination of the antibacterial effect of the by-products of L-PRF, exudate and clot, promising results are also evident, in relation to the biomodulatory effect evidenced in this last step, when comparing the SAS and exudate.
Bruna Somilio da FonsecaJorge Alberto AchcarFernanda de Freitas AníbalWilton Rogério LustriAndré Capaldo Amaral

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/1979

Bloodstream infections (BSI) are a major problem in intensive care units (ICUs), with increasing rates despite medical advancements. These infections are closely tied to patient deaths and are influenced by various risk factors identified through ICU research. Infections caused by antibiotic-resistant Gram-negative bacilli (GNBs) negatively impact patients, especially in underdeveloped countries like Brazil. This study investigated nosocomial BSI caused by GNB among ICU patients at Federal University of Uberlândia between 2012 and 2014. The research focused on understanding the epidemiology of these infections, their effect on mortality rates, and the corresponding risk factors involved. In a three-year study, 110 nosocomial bloodstream infections were caused by GNB, mainly from the lower respiratory tract (70.9%) with the Enterobacteriaceae family corresponding to 58.3% of the episodes. Klebsiella pneumoniae (20.9%), Acinetobacter baumannii (20.0%) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (19.1%) were the most frequent microorganisms. In our cohort, the overall mortality rate was of 39.5%, with 45.4% attributed to patients presenting GNB infections, especially multidrug resistant (MDR) organisms. This study revealed that septic shock and mechanical ventilation were significant mortality risk factors. Notably, patients with BSI caused by GNB, particularly MDR strains, experienced a faster progression towards death within the initial 20 days of hospitalization compared to those with infections from different microorganisms.
Vinícius Lopes DiasSebastiana Silva SabinoRosineide Marques RibasPaulo Pinto Gontijo Filho

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2005

Childbirth gradually became a hospital intervention that changed the levels of care. Surgical delivery made difficult deliveries safer and, consequently, reduced the risk of mother and baby death, resulting in increasingly high numbers of cesarean sections, which are sometimes unnecessary. This study aimed to characterize the prevalence of delivery routes performed in Brazil, comparing rates between different regions of the country, and identifying the maternal mortality rate associated with childbirth complications, between the years 2011 and 2021. This is an ecological study performed by obtaining data available on the TabNet DATASUS platform. The data obtained were tabulated in Excel, and, then, they were statistically analyzed in the program BioEstat 5.3. It was observed that the regions with emphasis on the cesarean section rate throughout the historical series were: Northeast, North, Midwest and South. On the other hand, the Southeast showed a significant, strong and positive correlation between mortality rates and the prevalence of vaginal delivery (p<0,01 e r=0,80) and significant, strong and negative correlation between mortality rates and the prevalence of cesarean sections (p<0,01 e r=-0,80). At the end, cesarean rates in Brazil increased gradually over the years studied, and accompanied an increase in the associated maternal mortality rate.
Stefany Andrade Santos NevesDanyara Silva dos SantosMariana Tirolli Rett BergamascoRubneide Barreto Silva GalloAna Silvia Moccellin

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/1700

According to the 2019 National Health Survey (PNS), 2.7% of the Brazilian population over the age of 2 had a physical disability related to the use of their upper limbs. The significant number of users, coupled with advances in research in the field of Assistive Technology (AT), has stimulated research for the development of prostheses. This paper presents the development of a low-cost, mechanically actuated active prosthesis consisting of a purely mechanical actuation mechanism. The prosthesis structure was developed by improving a model available on the GRABCAD COMMUNITY platform and manufactured using FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) additive manufacturing, and the product's characteristics were selected through a morphological matrix. The user's stump movements (part or all of the carpus) are used to actuate the fingers and consequently perform basic prosthesis movements, such as pinch and grasp movements.
Netaniel Morais SantosCrislaine Morais dos Santos Nilmar de Souza

https://revistarebram.com/index.php/revistauniara/article/view/2085

The quality of life of physiotherapy professionals working in the emergency department of public hospitals is a complex and challenging issue, given the intense and unpredictable nature of their work environment. These professionals face high physical and emotional demands, dealing with critical situations that require rapid and effective responses. The objective of this study was to correlate musculoskeletal pain with the quality of life of physiotherapists working in the emergency department of public hospitals. This is an exploratory, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, developed through the analysis of the activities performed and interviews with the physiotherapy team, without distinction of age or gender, working in the emergency department of two municipal hospitals located in the city of Imperatriz-MA. The study was guided by three questionnaires: sociodemographic, Nordic of musculoskeletal symptoms and quality of life - SF-36. The sample consisted predominantly of women, aged between 31 and 40 years, with a height between 151 and 160 cm and a body mass between 61 and 70 kg, with more than 4 years of experience, practicing physical activity 2 to 3 times a week. Regarding the Nordic questionnaire, the head, cervical, trapezius and lumbar regions stood out, with varying intensities. In the SF-36, the domains of functional capacity, physical aspects, pain, general health status and social aspects presented satisfactory results, the vitality domain represented low quality of life, emotional aspects and mental health, average results. It is noted that physiotherapists have a satisfactory quality of life, although there is a prevalence of musculoskeletal pain. Given this, there was no statistically significant correlation correlated with general quality of life in the work environment.
Vivian Cavalcante da CostaRaylson Marcelo Fernandes de LimaEmylly Cláudia Silva de AraújoRaquel Hillary Silva CostaLuan Keven da Silva Fernandes
