Abstract
O presente artigo tem por objetivo realizar algumas reflexões sobre a categoria identidade através de uma perspectiva interdisciplinar. A partir das discussões sobre Identidade na perspectiva desenvolvida pela Psicologia Social Brasileira Contemporânea, apontam-se características e a emergência de preocupações interdisciplinares. Nesta tendência, a Psicologia Social, Ciência Social, desde seus primórdios, desenvolve-se a partir da necessidade de explicar o comportamento social, à medida que a sociedade foi se tornando mais complexa e heterogênea. Sua preocupação chave continua sendo como compreender e relacionar indivíduo-sociedade. Analisam-se algumas das contribuições de pensadores contemporâneos – Woodward e Sousa Santos.
