Abstract
O artigo discute a formação do Consórcio Intermunicipal Central Paulista Brasil – Itália, constituído pelos municípios de Araraquara, Ibaté, Gavião Peixoto, Ribeirão bonito e São Carlos. Foi organizado nos quadros do “Acordo de Cooperação entre as regiões italianas do Marche, da Toscana, da Úmbria, da Emilia Romagna e o Governo da República Federativa do Brasil” e do projeto “Percurso de Colaboração para a Implementação de Políticas Públicas de Desenvolvimento Local Integrado entre Regiões”. O contexto de referência da discussão proposta é a viabilidade de implementação de políticas públicas de âmbito local e regional na região mencionada, afinadas com a experiência da Terceira Itália. Discute as dificuldades da utilização de modelos pré-concebidos, bem como as potencialidades e limites para a elaboração de políticas públicas voltadas ao desenvolvimento regional.
