Abstract
A indústria automobilística no Brasil passou por dois momentos em que significativos fluxos de investimentos destinaram-se ao país. O primeiro grande fluxo de investimentos ocorreu nas décadas de 50-60 e diz respeito aos investimentos realizados durante o processo de formação e consolidação do setor automobilístico no Brasil. O segundo grande fluxo de investimentos do setor no Brasil, ocorreu na segunda metade da década de 90 e destacou-se pelos investimentos em novas unidades produtivas, entretanto, a política setorial do governo federal não foi benéfica para todo o setor, pois uma das principais conseqüências desta política foi a desarticulação do segmento de autopeças de capital nacional, diferentemente da política setorial implementada no governo JK, em que tivemos a formação deste segmento no Brasil.
