O Espaço Escolar como Objeto de Estudo na Prática De Ensino

Abstract
O trabalho apresenta o relato de uma experiência realizada em 2003, com uma turma de 48 alunos do período noturno do 1o ano Curso Normal Superior do Centro Universitário de Araraquara - UNIARA, dentro da disciplina Prática de Ensino I. A experiência, cujo objetivo foi o de proporcionar aos estudantes uma aproximação inicial para desenvolver um estudo sobre a escola, pretendeu também: organizar reflexões a respeito do papel do espaço físico, enquanto parte do contexto que envolve o ensino nas séries iniciais; propiciar ao aluno um referencial teórico para uma análise do espaço escolar; discutir a influência do espaço físico na prática pedagógica. A proposta foi desenvolvida em três etapas, que incluíram: a elaboração de descrições do espaço escolar de acordo com as lembranças dos estudantes a partir de seus anos iniciais na escola; a descrição do espaço educativo por meio de imagens fotografadas; e, como trabalho final da disciplina, a produção individual de um texto escrito, com detalhamentos de observações realizadas em diferentes escolas. Para encaminhar os procedimentos utilizados e fundamentar as discussões e análises, foram feitas leituras de obras de autores que trabalham a temática do espaço escolar considerando-o como uma das dimensões materiais do currículo. Os resultados permitiram que se realizasse, a partir do estudo do espaço escolar, uma aproximação com a escola, com o ensinar e o aprender. A proposta da disciplina e o seu desenvolvimento possibilitaram o encaminhamento de uma análise consistente da dimensão educativa do espaço escolar, permitindo alcançar, de forma eficiente, os objetivos fixados.
