Abstract
Este texto procura relatar e discutir os resultados de projeto voltado ao estudo das relações entre as Universidades regionais e o meio produtivo. Buscou primeiramente, identificar o perfil das atividades de extensão realizadas pelas unidades universitárias regionais. Na seqüência, selecionar e avaliar aquelas especialmente dedicadas à transferência de tecnologia e conhecimento – capazes, pois de gerar inovações. O esforço final foi de tentar apurar o grau de articulação efetiva ou eventual existente entre as unidades e o meio externo na perspectiva selecionada.
