Abstract
É sempre uma alegria quando chegamos ao momento de lançamento de uma nova edição da Revista UNIARA. Esta edição, a de número 17/18, é especial porque grande parte dos textos aqui publicados é voltada à discussão da multidisciplinariedade e da interdisciplinariedade. Esta é, por excelência, a linha mestra destes anos todos de existência da Revista Uniara. Aqueles que se dedicam à vida acadêmica sabem que grande parte do pensamento científico moderno tem como paradigma a especialização. Vivemos em um mundo em que o especialista é extremamente valorizado. A todo momento, deparamo-nos com um expert se apresentando como profundo conhecedor de um determinado assunto. É imprescindível reconhecer que os campos de pesquisa têm se ampliado cada vez mais, multiplicando-se, assim, exponencialmente, as possibilidades de abertura de novas áreas dos saberes. É evidente também que, no mundo moderno, o conhecimento gerado pela humanidade é de tal vultosidade que seria difícil a qualquer um dominá-lo no seu todo...
