Marketing Político em uma Gestão Participativa: A Polêmica em Discussão

Abstract
No momento em que contribuições na área de políticas públicas e desenvolvimento regional se tornam cada vez mais importantes, o presente artigo analisa o papel do marketing inserido na relação e constituição do poder local e na formação e entendimento de questões políticas, o que não deve ser visto como garantia do sucesso, em termos de resultado eleitoral. A pesquisa foi construída a partir dos elementos de registro de experiência vivida no Departamento de Marketing e Comunicação da Prefeitura Municipal de Matão (1997-2000). Procurou-se levantar dados sobre esta experiência, a implantação e a influência do marketing nos marcos de mudança para uma gestão participativa. As novas formas de comunicação foram analisadas como expressão de mudanças nas relações de poder, o que não significa rupturas com práticas clientelistas e personalistas que permearam sua história. Este artigo busca contribuir para trazer à tona uma dimensão pouco analisada na produção voltada ao poder local, a das formas de comunicação como elementos instituintes de novas práticas e representações.
