Covid – 19: Cuidados farmacêuticos durante a pandemia

Resumo

O novo Coronavírus, causador da doença respiratória COVID-19, já infectou mais de 5 milhões de pessoas em 181 países, causando diversos problemas econômicos e sociais no mundo. Ainda não há tratamento ou vacina eficaz, então os esforços para redução da transmissão são foco do sistema de saúde. Em epidemias de doenças contagiosas, profissionais de saúde correm um risco maior do que a população em geral de se contaminar. Nesse contexto, o farmacêutico exerce papel importante no controle da transmissão da doença e na atenção às necessidades da comunidade durante a crise, disseminando informações sobre a doença, além de monitorar reações advindas do uso de medicamentos. Sendo assim, o trabalho proposto visa detalhar a função do farmacêutico na linha de frente ao combate a COVID-19 e esclarecer seu envolvimento no controle e prevenção da pandemia. Para alcançar este objetivo, bases de dados, como Google Acadêmico, Scielo, Science Direct e PubMed, foram utilizadas na busca de evidências sobre o novo Coronavírus, bem como da atuação dos farmacêuticos neste cuidado à população. Os unitermos utilizados foram: Coronavírus, COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Pharmaceutical care, Healthcare workers. Desta forma, obteve-se informações de publicações entre os anos 2003 a 2020 para esta revisão. Com este estudo podemos inferir que farmácias se tornaram o primeiro contato de muitos indivíduos contaminados com o atendimento de saúde especializado. Com isto, este profissional torna-se importante no controle do medo coletivo e da falta de informação, que devem ser combatidos através de informações confiáveis, contribuindo para redução da sobrecarga sobre o sistema de saúde.
