Cenários de Contaminação da Água Subterrânea por Atividades Agrícolas

Abstract
As águas subterrâneas são utilizadas em muitos países como água potável e vem apresentando acréscimo no seu consumo devido à boa qualidade e baixo custo de tratamento comparado ao da água superficial. Por estarem localizadas em reservatórios que apresentam, em alguns casos, vulnerabilidade natural à contaminação, as mesmas podem apresentar sua qualidade alterada devido ao uso inadequado do solo. A atividade agrícola é umas das atividades que podem ocasionar prejuízos à qualidade dessas águas. Esse fato pode ser observado pela ocorrência de contaminantes inorgânicos e orgânicos em amostras de águas subterrâneas de diversos países. Medidas preventivas devem ser tomadas com o objetivo de minimizar e até mesmo eliminar esse risco de contaminação. Esse trabalho apresenta uma revisão dos principais cenários referentes à contaminação e proteção das águas subterrâneas, discutindo particularmente os potenciais contaminantes gerados pelas atividades agrícolas.
